We’re delighted you’re considering Costume Hire NI for your event. To keep things clear and fair for everyone, please read the following Terms & Conditions. By booking with us, you agree to these terms.
💳 1. Booking & Payment
To secure your booking, we require a 50% deposit at the time of booking.
The remaining 50% must be paid in cash at the end of the hire or service.
Bookings are only confirmed once the deposit has been received.
🚗 2. Travel & Additional Fees
Our prices include travel within a set area.
If your venue is further away or involves long travel times, an additional travel/mileage fee may apply. This will always be agreed before your event.
❌ 3. Cancellations & Refunds
If you cancel less than 24 hours before your event, your deposit will not be refunded.
If you cancel earlier than this, we may be able to reschedule your booking or refund part of your deposit, at our discretion.
👗 4. Costume Care & Responsibility
Costumes and mascots must be treated with care and respect.
If any costume, mascot, or equipment is damaged, lost, or stolen during your hire, whether by you, your guests, or contractors, you will be responsible for the full cost of repair or replacement.
Costumes must be kept away from food, drink, open flames, smoke machines, and anything that could damage or stain them.
🧒 5. Children & Parental Responsibility
Our mascots and performers are entertainers, not childcare providers.
Children must be supervised by a responsible parent/guardian at all times.
Children must never be left alone with our performers or individuals in costume.
Parents/guardians remain fully responsible for their children’s behaviour and safety throughout the event.
🌦️ 6. Outdoor Events & Weather
For outdoor events, the hirer must provide a safe and suitable environment.
In cases of bad weather (e.g. heavy rain, mud, or extreme heat), we may need to pause, adjust, or relocate the performance to protect the costume and performer.
🤝 7. Safety & Respect for Our Staff
Our performers and handlers are there to make your event enjoyable. They must be treated with respect at all times.
If any abuse, assault, or unsafe behaviour occurs, we reserve the right to end the service immediately.
In this case, the full fee will still be payable, and we may take legal action to recover damages if necessary.
⏰ 8. Timings & Overtime
Your booking covers a set period of time (as agreed when booking).
If you would like us to stay longer, this may be possible but will be subject to an additional fee and must be agreed on the day.
📸 9. Photography & Promotion
You are welcome to take photos and videos at your event for personal use.
Costumes and mascots may not be used for commercial advertising, endorsements, or political purposes without our written permission.
We may occasionally take photos or short videos at events for our own promotion. If you would prefer us not to, please let us know in writing before the event.
📧 10. Customer Details & Marketing
At the time of booking we will ask for your event date, email, telephone number, and contact details so we can manage your booking properly.
We may also use these details for future offers, promotions, and updates to help you get the best from our services.
If you’d prefer not to receive marketing messages, you can let us know at any time.
🎭 11. Substitute Performers
If a performer is unable to attend due to illness or emergency, we reserve the right to provide a suitable replacement costume or performer.
🌍 12. Force Majeure (Uncontrollable Events)
We will not be held responsible if we cannot perform due to circumstances beyond our control, such as illness, travel disruptions, extreme weather, or other unavoidable events.
🛡️ 13. Liability
We are not responsible for accidents, injuries, or damage to property that result from misuse of the costumes, lack of supervision, or inappropriate behaviour at your event.
It is your responsibility to make sure the venue is safe and suitable for our performers.
